Someone at Reuters is having too much fun:
China threatens drama
if Obama
meets the Dalai Lama
Followed by
Obama
meets the Dalai Lama
despite China drama
I am reminded of the immortal words of Ogden Nash:
The one-L lama, he’s a priest
The two-L llama, he’s a beast
And I would bet a silk pajama
There isn’t any three-L lllama
To which my Bostonian friend Marty responds “that big fire was a right three-alahmah”.
A friends of mine with small children, in response to tantrums and other fits of pique, will give them a withering stare and ask with all the sarcasm she can muster (which is quite a bit, actually) “Are we being attacked by the drama llamas again?”
It’s good of your head of state to show slightly more balls on this issue than our head of state.
To be clear, my head of state is HRH Queen Elizabeth II. I just live in the USA.
Well, when it comes to word plays, try to beat that title: http://dev.video.ntnews.com.au/article/2012/04/11/298481_ntnews.html
(I’m not going to spell it out myself 🙂 )
Actually, it may not work with some North American accents: obviously, the newspaper is Australian
Works just fine for me — but I’m an invertebrate punster. (So slug me.)
Mollusk you one more time: what’s with all the puns!?
